About Paola

Two decades of being both insider and outsider.

Working and living across cultures for twenty years at the United Nations, in embassies, in museums, across private and public sector organizations, in seven countries spanning Europe, Africa, and the Americas. I work in English and Spanish, and I am also fluent in French and Portuguese.

My academic background is rooted in international relations, intercultural studies, and conflict resolution. My practical background spans research, teaching, facilitation, partnerships, and cross-border collaboration.

What ties these experiences together is one persistent observation, formed from years of being both insider and outsider in different contexts: friction in international teams is rarely caused by incompetence or bad intent. It comes from differences in communication styles, expectations, and cultural assumptions that no one has articulated.

I currently design and lead interactive workshops on cross-cultural communication for international teams. These sessions that help organizations communicate more clearly, reduce unnecessary friction, and collaborate more effectively. Alongside this core offer, I work one-on-one with executives and professionals navigating a cultural setting that isn't their own, and I partner with teams ready for deeper intervention work when communication has already broken down.

I help the people in the room recognize and name what is actually happening between them so that they can move toward shared goals.
